My natural hair color is black. I got it in highlights with a mocha base and blonde highlights. Need to get my natural hair color back. I know it won't be the same but I would like to add the black color on the higlighted area. Is that OK? Thinking of doing it at home tonite. Any suggestions for a nice hair product?Which hair product do I use at home to color my hair black??
If you have blonde highlights, you have to use a reddish base color first or the black haircolor will turn your hair green. Do not use an ash brown or black! Go to a salon supply house. Color Charm in the tube is a good brand and 10% volume Peroxide.
Again you have to put some red back in the hair or the hair will be green or even gray. Maybe a dark red brown first, wait a month, then try a dark brown.Which hair product do I use at home to color my hair black??
This sounds like the dumbest question, but bear with me.
Are you sure your natural color is really black? Unless you're African or Asian, it's likely not. But it may *look* black in its natural state, even if it isn't.
Clairol makes a color called ';darkest brown'; that's a warm brown based very very dark color. You may want to try that before you go with a true black, which may look weird.
go to the drug store or wal-mart and get a bottle of black hair dye. Revlon is good and cheap.
I know the store Hot Topic sells a great selection of hair dye's...and black is the best there.
Ohhh...be careful...to many chemicals could cause chemical burn and really make your hair look bad. Unless you want to spend a lot having a professional repair the color I would suggest a temporary die that washes out to use until you can grow the color out. I over dyed my hair and its took about a year to finally get it back to having a healthy sheen. I use the temporary die to keep the color even.
